Engineering New Zealand have announced a new pilot course presented by Stuart Meakins
Siteworks: Pitfalls and Problems
Don’t miss this special introductory rate for a new pilot course ideally suited to emerging engineers and project managers.
This course provides emerging consulting engineers and project managers with a firm understanding of how to successfully deal with difficult and unexpected situations on site.
As construction activity intensifies in New Zealand there is an increased demand for engineers and project managers to manage and monitor construction sites on behalf of their clients.
These activities need to be undertaken in a changing environment of increasing regulatory, technical and safety requirements.
Traditional training for emerging professionals usually concentrates on the technical and contractual aspects of working on a site, with less time given to the personal skills required for successful outcomes.
Previously, consulting engineers and project managers would rely on a combination of mentoring from more experienced peers and on the job experience to develop these skills. The demand for site presence from consultants is increasing and traditional learning is not able to keep up with this pace.
This course is designed to bridge this gap and provide a firm foundation in identifying the potential pitfalls and problems that may face a consultant working on site. It will also provide the skills needed to successfully deal with challenging situations.
